  Potential to be amazing promo Evaluation Our initial plan upon receiving the brief was to go for an audio/visual product to promote the college. I (Jay Tasker) immediately begun writing a treatment you can view on this blogger. With the plan of making a promotional video that conforms to the general format of a promotional video for an educational institution.  To do so we performed some light market research which can also be seen on this blogger. We reviewed the codes and conventions of the samples we had chosen. Picking out what parts we would like to replicate within our own promotional video. As well as things we would like to avoid, that in our opinion subtracted from the promos we viewed.  Slow-motion shots were definitely on the itinerary. Backed with cinematic music it all fits together perfectly and in my opinion provides for a near-perfect promo.   Market research      A television advert for East Durham College from 2013     https://youtu.be/AyBpfldLCTw     It features a montage of students, each stating their hopes for the future . C utting in between clips of said students working/learning  as well as B-roll footage of statistics about the college. All of this is backed by an upbeat track up till the end where they cut between a few students saying a sort of slogan. The end screen displays the college logo and the  URL  for their website.      I personally like the involvement of numerous students and having them voice over a clip of themselves being active and also directly addressing the camera. Treatment

  Treatment     Working Title:  Potential to Be Amazing Promo     Medium:  Video Advertisement      Duration:  30 seconds      Target Audience:  Students aged 15-19 either looking for colleges to attend or uncertain of their next move      Outline:  A 30 second promotional video (a lot, if not all of the shots will be played back at a slower speed) for Sunderland College starting with an establishing shot outside the Arts Academy cutting to a group of people talking , then a mid-shot of one of the people in the group with them/someone talking over the top of the clip. Repeat the last two shots with some variations until the end where the Sunderland college logo will be displayed with a lot of students saying “Sunderland College, unlock your potential” or alternatively just “Unlock your potential”      Visual elements:  Possibly artificial lighting, slow camera movement...
